Boathouse is an artist-run contemporary art space in Ahmedabad, providing residencies for artists, makers, photographers, designers, writers, musicians, researchers and any other creative artist or designer.
The residency is based in “Boathouse”, a building which has been nominated by Archdaily as Building of the year 2022. The rooms are large and spacious, the house provides many nooks and corners for artists to work together or in isolation.
Situated near the Nal sarovar and Thol Bird sanctuary, the house rings of songs by many birds in winter. Surrounded by green wetlands the Boathouse is an ideal place for working, contemplating, reading or just feeling lost in nature.
The historic city of Ahmedabad is a UNESCO world heritage site, besides this there are buildings by modern masters Le Corbusier, Louis Kahn and B V Doshi. The Residency is ideal for those who wish to work or contemplate in peace or those who wish to network with other artists and learn from the vast resources of internationally acclaimed design institutes in Ahmedabad.
