The fellowship aims to provide support for contemporary visual artists in Palm Beach County and works collaboratively with the Studio Art Program at Palm Beach State College.
The HMS Visiting Artists Fellowship will provide an endowment of $6,000 to one selected artist per year and facilitate exhibition and mentoring opportunities for this Visiting Artist. Selected artists will be responsible for fulfilling the following obligations:
• Selected artists will agree to donate one work or a limited-edition original print to the HMS Fine Arts Study Art Collection.

Criteria for Selection
Artists in any media or level of professional accomplishment should apply, but most importantly the artist should be able to complete the required duties of the fellowship as listed above and emphasis will be placed on their ability to provide mentorship opportunities for Palm Beach State College students. The Black Artists Grant (BAG) offered by Creative Debuts as a no-strings attached financial support to help black artists. They can spend the grant on whatever they want – be that make new work, buy equipment or materials, travel, research, visit exhibitions or conferences, or to even just cover some life expenses.
This grant has been set up because black artists are systematically under-supported by the art world; by institutions, curators, the artist-led scene, major and minor funding bodies, the market, art schools, and by audiences too.

FfAI is interested in practices that originate or end in the arts but also have broader effects and consequences. We focus on people, projects, groups, and institutions developing new and dynamic definitions of community and connectivity, especially those that foster collectivity.
Individual grants are made to artists, activists, researchers, writers, and others in the visual arts to pursue their research without institutional, governmental, or philanthropic preconditions.
Alternative forms of institutionality in the visual arts, their history, successes, and failures, the redefinition and use of archives, and new practices for the commons remain ongoing concerns.
